Thunderstorms, Trouble, and One of My Obsessions..

Good Morning!

I am exhausted. Last night there were thunderstorms, and since my parents are gone this week, I'm the one taking care of the dogs. So, having a husky mix and an older springer with dementia is not the most fun during storms---specifically storms during a time when you really need sleep. But then there are the other two dogs that want to snuggle just as much as the two who hate storms. I am in need of a massage!

Then, I wake up and eat brunch and everything, and then my dad calls. Apparently my mom told him about my recent belly button piercing...
Oops.

Anyways, I've recently become a big fan of a band called One Direction. Dont't worry, I'm not one of the girls that sends them their bras/underwear and tweets them all day long (only occasionally ;).
I don't know if it's their boy band image, their British (and Irish!) accents, or spunky attitude that keeps me, but I do know it's their wonderful voices that drew me in. One Direction began on the U.K's TV show "X Factor" which is similar to "American Idol", but there are a little less rules and regulations.

Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Harry Styles all auditioned separately in the spring of 2010, but then had the option to either leave the show that week as a solo artist, or go on in the competition as a group. They were the season's third runner-ups, I believe.

Anyways, now I have their CD and everything, but I've recently come across a clip of Louis' rendition of "Look After You" originally by the Fray. He sang it several years before he auditioned for X Factor when he was 16. At first I didn't like it as much as some of the other songs I've heard by them, but then I realized that I was singing it in my head for a few days. So, I listened to it again and realized it grew on me and I actually really liked it.
Compared to some of his other songs posted on his youtube channel (louistomlinson07), this is his best; it's because he didn't use auto tune on his voice! They all sound so great acoustically. I'll post a link below...

Speaking of singing and wonderful voices...
Today my mom's friend and her son came over to walk the dogs while my parents are away. Guess who was in the shower, and guess who heard me singing! Hahaha I hope they can still hear... I laugh, but I'm afraid to sing in the shower now. It was my vocal sanctuary. No judgements.

But that's basically it for today. Sorry about the fan-girl moment over 1D :) Shout out to Erika and the 1D concert in Raleigh next June!

XOXX,
Lizzie
