One of the biggest moments of my day today was watching the trailer for the movie adaptation of "The Great Gatsby". I'm so excited for this because Baz Luhrmann is probably my favorite director; James Cameron coming in a close second. This was probably the only book in school that I did not feel the need to look up spark notes five minutes before class instead of actually reading the assignments.
I'm so excited to see this movie, yet I feel as though Daisy's character is now made out to be more romantic than in the book. Wasn't she just kind of playing around with Jay in the book and not truly as in love as he was? Or am I thinking of a different book? Comment below and help me out here, por favor.
I love that Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio are in this movie--they were made for these roles! It will become a career-memorable moment, along with Spiderman and Titanic, respectively.
That is, if the writing doesn't stray very far at all from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel.
I really, really, really recommend reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald for some light reading if you ever get the chance.
Glee tonight was pretty good, but not as great as I expected it to be. I really loved it when Mr. Shue told Finn about why he was even in glee, and when Kurt's dad danced to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" for his grad present.
But, there was so much hype for it but I feel like it was a little too rushed in some parts and I couldn't keep the story lines straight. Some story lines didn't even match up--what was supposed to become of Puck being jealous of Finn getting attention for bring down barriers by joining glee and football?
Even so, I am still anxiously anticipating this fall when Glee comes back (August?), and I may criticize an episode occasionally, but I am a Gleek through and through, and nothing can change that! :) At least I hope the new characters next season won't...
Something else I love about Glee: the writers create little zingers that you have to really be paying attention to in order to understand. Effective.
"We can go to the bathroom in the garbage can and eat Joe because she's been here the shortest so we know her the least" -Brittney
"We both know how hard long distance relationships can be. We both saw the notebook." -Blaine
"I'd call my high school career a total success. I mean not in terms of grades and stuff but I won a state title in football and a national championship in glee club and it turns out I never actually accidentally got anyone pregnant." -Finn
"I got a C minus! That's a Puckerman A plus! I'm graduating!" -Puck
I don't have much else to say since I blogged yesterday. So, goodnight.
XOXX,
Lizzie
