Maharaja

Helllloooooo,

I am exhausted! I only got about 5 maybe 6 hours of sleep last night. I've been up since 6 a.m. and it is now nearly 11 p.m.
I'm getting back into the swing of the workout and eating healthy mode, and my body is feeling great! Oh, how I've missed this feeling!

Breaking news:
I've finally named my dog! [Two years after I got him....]
His new name is now "Beau" because it means loyal male companion. Granted, it also means lover and escort, but I save that for Beau Mirchoff from "Awkward." ;)    [I wish]
He actually reminded me of the name! I had considered it when I got "Little Dog", but now I think I've finally decided that Louis, Scout, Heath(cliff), and Dawson don't fit him.... but I think I will name his buddy Dawson in a few years when I get another pup for him to play with.
In conclusion, I will no longer have to answer the "What is your dog's name?" question with "Little Dog".

Spent the day cleaning out my mom's car, and then going to Madison with my mom, her friend, my sister, and her friend (who also happens to be my mom's friend's daughter). We ate Indian food for dinner at he Maharaja.... SO delicious! I split the Mutter Mushroom and Vegetable Mix Curry with my mom, and we all shared the vegetarian appetizer sampler. Then just a little bit of mango ice cream to finish off the meal. BEST meal I've had in a while!

Interesting news: Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are getting a divorce, and Adele is pregnant. To celebrate Katie's new transition I will be watching an episode of Dawson's Creek before bed, and to celebrate Adele's new transition I will... eat some food or something? Tomorrow.

GOOD NIGHT! :*

Quickly

Hey,

Time is moving so quickly! I cannot believe that I will be moving in about a week and a half!
I've been having some trouble sleeping lately.... I try several times, but end up staying up until about 3 or 4 in the morning. It's not very fun because I'm exhausted. Yet, my body doesn't think it needs to sleep so much anymore.

I still have to finish packing up my room. I'm really so close to being done, but the procrastinator in me is always brought out during the final stages of a project or task. Except when I make videos... then it never really comes out.
Or with faceinhole.com.
SUCH a great website--you add your face in a hole where someone else's face was when they got their picture taken with a celebrity. So it looks like you were also with the celebrity. It's a great way to waste time and have a little bit of fun along the way :)

I can be the biggest dork sometimes! Don't worry... this isn't the first time I've realized this.

Another sad thing about leaving my hometown is that I won't have a library card in Hickory. I don't even know if they have a library or where it is. Maybe I'll get one in two weeks.

One Direction is in Charlotte tonight. I'm literally depressed thinking that I could be there right now watching them.

C'est la vie.

Please keep my friend Erika and her family in your thoughts right now! Her stepdad is fighting cancer... his blog is here if you want to read or show him support through the internet! http://jaysroadbump.blogspot.com

Lots of errands to run tomorrow! I'll blog then.

lizzie

Awkward.

Hey,

So yesterday there was a "Awkward." marathon on MTV. "Awkward." is a show on MTV and it may be one of the coolest shows around. It is hilariously down to earth and semi-relatable to how it feels to grow up. Or maybe my childhood was just awkward itself and it's only relatable for me....

But whatever. I flip flop constantly between the characters Jake and Matty! Both are very adorable at times in their own ways. Except I never understood why Matty got mad at Jenna when she was drunk and simply told the truth about their relationship: that Matty was embarrassed to be seen with her.
He tried to say that he was only upset because that was how she saw him... but why did he make it so hard on her? I was screaming at the TV and laughing until my stomach hurt all night long. This is one of the greatest MTV shows ever made. Maybe even made... EVER.
Like "Napoleon Dynamite" but a little more girly. But Napoleon takes Jenna down when it comes to spontaneous outbursts of dorkiness....

Also, I bought the Lana Del Rey album off of iTunes... you should do the same! It's wonderful music to just play while you get ready or type on the computer--it's soothing and relaxing.

Speaking of music, new song on the playlist! It was on the season finale of Awkward. It's called "Starry Eyed" by Ellie Goulding (amazing artist! If you like her song, check out "Lights" and ESPECIALLY her rendition of "Your Song").

I'm even more addicted to Instagram...
But now I have a Tumblr and I don't know how to use it properly.. it's a little overwhelming. I don't know what to do!

If you have some tips for easing my way into the Tumblr world, pleeeease help me out!

lizzie

Instagram = Instaddicted

Hello,

A gentleman named Harry on twitter pointed out to me that my "Instaddicted" pun was bad and that I should say "Instafan" instead. Too bad, Harry!

As you might have noticed from Facebook and Twitter, I am in love with Instagram. Oh! Another one! Instalove!

Here are some of my precious works of today:

"Two Weeks Notice, Then North Carolina Bound!"

"Our Walk"

"Midsummer Night's Song"

"My Pup Trooper"

It is a tremendously fun app for smartphones... the multiple picture requires another app like "Pic Join" or something similar, like Photo Grid. Both are great quality, and all you do is use the app to make the pictures come together, and then upload that to instagram and make further adjustments if necessary.

Try it out! [By the way, my instagram name is lizzie_warfield same as twitter!]

Oh, and as you saw from my first instagram, I move to North Carolina in two weeks! So come say "Goodbye" to me if you'd like!
I had to put in my two weeks notice at work. I was so nervous! I didn't want to make them mad, but at least I'm not leaving them for another job.... so, I hope they aren't mad.

I can't believe I only have two more weeks of living in my hometown! It's kind of bittersweet. As excited as I am to leave it behind me, this is also the place where I grew up. But I guess I'll be growing up even more in other places, too!

XOXX,
lizzie

p.s.. This has to be my favorite instagram found thus far...

The Wisconsin Dells

Hellllloooooo,

I really, really, really love the Wisconsin Dells. I think the worst part about moving to North Carolina is that I won't be close to the dells anymore. It was always fun to just go up there for the day or for the night to go shopping in the outlet mall (my all-time FAVORITE mall ever), or go out to eat at Monk's or Uno's or if it were someone's birthday we'd go to a fancy place called Field's at the Wilderness. Then there's the waterparks! Noah's Ark is my favorite, along with the Kalahari and the Wilderness. Mt. Olympus is okay, but there are always lines and a lot of people. I'd be willing to give it another try before my time in Wisconsin is up.
But one of the best things ever in the dells is either the carnivals or the Tommy Bartlett Ski Show. The performances are great, but the best part is the atmosphere. It's like a trip to the 60's. I think I love it so much because for some reason it reminds me of the resort in the movie "Dirty Dancing"--if they had a ski team instead of dancers, this would be what it looked like. The popcorn and candy and snacks and the seating in the woods on Lake Delton can compare to no other atmosphere during the summertime.

I remember the first time I fell in love with The Dells was when I was five and we went to the Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas. The whole resort was decked out in Christmas cheer; there was a giant Bavarian Clock in the lobby that just enchanted me. Back then, the waterpark was so big and there were tons of things to do! Even Santa showed up! It wasn't the first time I had been to The Dells [I had been to Family Land (which unfortunately, now is gone) and downtown shopping around], but it was the first time that I was fully aware of what was going on.
Then there were a few years in a row when we went to the Kalahari for Christmas, which became my favorite (and still is to this day). I remember the first time they added onto their waterpark....

Being there last night for Father's Day dinner reminded me of all of the memories I have there. Like going to the Chula Vista with my mom and sister and our two friends one weekend several summers ago. Like going to Noah's Ark for the first time with my best friend, Margaret (shootout to Margaret! It was so much fun!).
Like going on the Ducks with my grandma and grandpa and sister and cousin, and then later with just my grandpa and cousin after she passed. Or eating downtown in Monk's during a blizzard after shopping in the store "Big Dogs" for sweats and pajamas. I remembered crying when I was little because I wanted to go back and because I missed the smell of chlorine and the taste of Dippin Dots ice cream--even the sticky feeling of the humidity in the locker rooms!
And then I saw all of the bars (and many, many drunk people), and remembered the dreams I had of working in a resort during my college summers, and then going out to the bars downtown when I turned 21. Even going on a date there (which never happened...)!

It is going to be hard when I leave. I know that there are tons of beaches where I'm headed, like Myrtle Beach or Virginia Beach, etc.... but The Dells is special because it sprung up off of Lake Delton and the Wisconsin River--two very small things compared to other popular towns that had to have ocean access to achieve that status.

To me, it was home. The feeling and energy there is so enigmatic and contagious! I can't help but be swept up in the spirit. I have spent so many summers and winter vacations there, that it I know I'm bound to return and visit throughout my life.

Do you have a place like that?

XOXX,
Lizzie

p.p.s....

 beautiful scenery!

the best place to get your duck tours... never did the army one...

I ALWAYS wanted to go here but never did...

 downtown Wi Dells.. So fun!

Ed Sheeran

Hey,

Go look up the artist Ed Sheeran. I'll post some of his great music videos below, and I'll try to add my favorite songs on the playlist at the top of the page (make sure you press play before reading my blog each time).

I have a really great idea in my head for my next music video. I hope it will work out! I need participants!

I'll write more tomorrow.

XOXX,
lizzie

p.s... These are the links to Ed Sheeran's music videos. They're all either really funny or they are touching. Please watch them all since this blog is so short! Comment below with your thoughts. If you have any.

Small Bump (my favorite) by Ed Sheeran

This is so touching to me, even though I am not a mother, nor have I ever been almost a mother (or father for that matter... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD! AND TO MOM TOMORROW!). But for me, I guess I can find a similarity to how sometimes I get my hopes up about something and really want something to happen and fall in love with it, but it just doesn't work out, or it gets ended in some way or another. Right now, I specifically think about high school and how that didn't go how I wanted it to.
I also love how the rhythm of the beat in the back ground sounds like a heartbeat, and it's there before we even know what the lyrics mean (an analogy how the baby was there before the mom/dad knew it was), and then it cuts off right before the lyrics state that it was over.

Drunk (another favorite of mine) by Ed Sheeran  (cat lovers & others alike will find this video is funny)

This is just great because I want to do this with my cat (except party with hot boys, not girls). And I love the rhythm of it; when ever he sings "drunk" it feels like he's exhaling and unwinding, which is one of the messages I get from the song anyways. Right now the phrase that comes to my mind is "mind blowing" due to those similarities between content and physical aspect.

Lego House by Ed Sheeran  (this is just a finny video. Especially if you love Harry Potter/Rupert Grint)

This is great because it reminds me of the Lily Allen music video for "Who'd Have Known" (which has been butchered in a rap song by twisting the meaning of the lyrics) where she takes Elton John hostage (but this is reversed roles). Plus, I love that whole ginger obsession thing going on. I wonder why this was chosen for the music video concept, though. Maybe because I'm sure people get them mixed up or something and he was playing off of that.

A Team by Ed Sheeran

This is an important music video because Ed wrote it for the charity he supports, which is One25 (for "vulnerable" women--I don't know why I have vulnerable in parenthesis. I guess it's because I'm not comfortable with that description of less-than-fortunate women. We're already degraded in society enough as it is).

Wednesday

Helloooooo,

I woke up today to one of the funniest dreams I've had in a long time...
I was in New York City, but instead of the typical landscape, Time's Square had the same outline as downtown Beaver Dam (the side that the cinema is on). The old car body shop building was there, but it was a Buffalo Wild Wing's or an Irish Pub instead, and the house that is across the street from both the old car dealer/It's a Sweet Life Cupcake shop and the cinema was a tattoo parlor (I'm not sure if it was a home-run operation or not...),  but it was also a sort of check point for One Directioners, and I was friends with the tattoo artists (but I don't ever remember seeing them in person! I have no clue who they are!). I was roaming around the other part of the city that looked different than downtown Beaver Dam, was deserted, and had a lot of confusing road work/blocking that I had to just do a U-Turn to get back to downtown. It reminded me of the way back from the Madison airport near MATC (almost to Stoughton?)...
But anyways, the One Direction boys were in my dream New York City, so I went to the BWW's/Sports Pub that was next to the cinema (which in my dream was a cinema, yet also a really fancy hotel that they all stayed at). And I saw Zayn and Niall hanging out with some people, and then we all left together on a parade float type thing so that people could see them but they wouldn't be able to touch them (like their "One Thing" music video), Zoe TeRonde was on the float with me among various other Beaver Dam people--I just don't remember the rest of the people. But she sang some lyrics wrong, so Niall and I corrected her (sorry, Zoe!).
Well then we went back to the hotel and then we went to sleep, but I was awoken by my cousin Tanner who took my blanket so that he could go sleep on another couch and be warm. Then I got mad and chased him around and then hit him until he gave it back (love ya, Tanman). And I ended up touching Niall's feet with white socks on them (WTF?) and then found out from my family that Niall was my distant cousin on my dad's side (and I was wondering if I was distant enough for me to marry him--HAHAHA). Then later after everyone woke up, my friend who was a tattoo artist (but I don't even know her name!) and I went out to find 1D tickets and get the lucky backstage passes by roaming around the city that was deserted. I should've just asked Niall. DUH.

I woke up with a smile on my face because my dreaming imagination makes me giggle almost every morning, but in always in a new way. It was like that time I yelled at my mom the morning before we left for our spring break trip to Greece and Italy that I grabbed the bag with the bigger quantity. It was because I had just finished reading the Hunger Games the night before.

Maybe I'll write a little more as the day progresses!
XOXX,
Lizzie

p.s.... this is Niall. I think he would fit into my family just fine, yeah?

Dawson's Creek

Hello,

Really right now, all I can say is that my room looks even more messier than when I began "cleaning" it. What I'm really doing, though, is packing up all of my stuff into boxes or throwing them away or into a goodwill box. It's excruciatingly long and tedious work that I'm proud to say that I'm almost finished with! [Two weeks later...]

I have finished Skins on netflix, and while I await the next season to become available, I have taken up watching "Dawson's Creek", since it was filmed in Wilmington. Apparently, even campus was used occasionally for outside shots of the school. It's so funny to look back and remember when those fashions were popular. And Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, and Michelle Williams look so young! But so far, so good on this series. Even if they talk about sex ALL the time. I guess the only real difference between that and Skins is that they find more opportune moments to use different kinds of drugs (and they thoroughly enjoy it!).

Trying to plan a trip to the U.K. and Ireland for next summer! We will see how this works out! :)
I'll blog more tomorrow. I've found quite a few things while cleaning out my room that you may or may not enjoy...

XOXX,
Lizzie

Epiphany!

Sorry I've been so neglectful of my blog!

I have been working so much lately. But anyways, I've been compiling a list of places I want to travel to someday. Most of them are from another calendar my dad gave me one Christmas, but now I have to really go through them... there are hundreds!

Tonight I saw the movie "Snow White and the Huntsmen" with my mom. It was really good (except some awkward moments of acting) until the end. The ending was too abrupt and there were many unfinished story plots; maybe there is the premise of a sequel?
Anyways, it was still poorly finished with blocking. There were times when I was thinking, "why are they looking in that direction when the other person is in a different direction from them?" It was all a bit awkward during those moments which could have really improved the quality. But, Charlize Theron was absolutely wonderful!
And, Chris Hemsworth (and Sam Claflin) is a hottie. So is his brother, Liam. ;)

Anyways, sitting in the theater made me realize that I want to do something involving film in my future. I have been thinking this for a while now, but tonight seemed to make the point yet again. I don't really know what it is; maybe it's acting, or directing, or even editing, but I do know there is a future for me somewhere in that field, and it will make me feel incredibly happy or at least fulfilled.
I'm at a loss for words on how to describe what it feels like to settle down to watch a movie that I anticipated to see. Or the trance that I fall into when making my own short presentations. It's just something that clicks for me and since it's always changing and there's always new projects to begin, I don't see myself becoming bored very easily.

I'll try to write again tomorrow to make up for my absence... Time to sleep now so that I am ready to pick some strawberries tomorrow morning!

XOXX,
Lizzie

p.s... this pretty much shows my epiphany of late..

Wild Women Calendar Quotes!

Hello!

I want to remind you to press play on the music box at the top... this blog is meant to be an audio and a visual experience. Plus, I have pretty good taste in music. ;)

What a wonderful day at a beach in Green Lake today! Warm sun, cold water, and snoozing time. I got even more of a tan--this summer is quite an accomplishment for me.
I'm beginning to REALLY dig down and go through all of my room in preparation for the move now. While I was doing this, I found some quotes that I would like to share (so that I can throw them away and just keep them on here...ha).
These are from a calendar I got for Christmas in 2010 from my dad called "Wild Words from Wild Women".

1) "The historical St. Valentine was clubbed to death, you know." -Lynne Truss, grouchy grammarian.

2) "I'm an actor! An actress is someone who wears boa feathers." -Sigourney Weaver, a real character.

3) "A sensible woman should be guided by her head when taking a husband, and by her heart when taking a lover." -Ninon de Lenclos, oft-quoted courtesan.

4) "There are so many girls, and so few princes." -Liza Minnelli, Hollywood royalty.

5) "You need that guy like a giraffe needs strep throat." -Ann Landers, dispenser of syndicated advice.

6) "I don't wanna be a hot girl--I wanna be iconic." -Beyonce Knowles, singer of substance.

7) "I'm really exciting. I smile a lot, I win a lot, and I'm really sexy." -Serena Williams, champ of chutzpah.

8) "Sweat is my sanity." -Sarah Palin, on the joys of jogging. (Jogging is NOT my sanity...)

9) "A lot of people have told me I'm special, and I don't argue with them because I don't like confrontation." -Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, tell-all blogger.

10) "All your age says about you is how long you've been alive." -The Reverend Dianna Gwilliams, wed to a man eighteen years her junior. (I disagree; age only says how many years you've been breathing!)

11) "If God wanted us to be naked, why did he invent sexy lingerie?" -Shannon Doherty, Hollywood hell-raiser. (Shoutout to 90210!)

12) "I will be the mere instrument of pleasure to no man. He must make a friend and companion of me, or he will lose me." -Harriette Wilson, mistress to many a nineteenth-century noble.

Ever Since my Family Returned

Hey!

So my mom and sister have been back since last night! I like having them back in the house. We've watched two movies together so far, and tonight my sister and I jammed out (with my guitar) to "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye ft. Kimbra (it's on my playlist as of right now-- June 3, 2012).

Speaking of hanging with the sis, we once made a video of us giving my pet fish a funeral. I found it this weekend and edited it and posted it to youtube. I'll post a link below.

The U.K. television show "Skins" has been an addiction of mine for about a year and a half now. The U.K. version is SO much better than the American version, too. But what I don't like about it, is that they always end the series of people just when I'm getting used to them. It's similar to Degrassi in that way.
Speaking of which, why is it that other countries are so much better at writing wonderfully insightful narratives in their young adult soap operas than America?
90210 and especially One Tree Hill (don't forget Glee!) are very good with the material and emotional aspect of soaps, but sometimes there are cheesy tidbits that suggest funding and advertising time, which gets annoying. Otherwise, the plot is just as addicting!

I just finished the 4th season of Skins on Netflix (LOVE Netflix! It's a best buy for me! I use it all the time and definitely get more than my moneys worth. And I'm NOT even being paid to say this! I wish, though!). Do you think Cook got away from that creepy therapist of Effy's? Is Freddie truly dead? I really though that by the way that they set up the season finale that they would continue with their plot. But maybe they will reappear in the 5th season and I just haven't gotten to it yet...? Who knows.

I ate dinner with my grandparents last night; I love seeing them! Go call yours and tell them you love them if you can!

XOXX,
Lizzie

Playlist

Hey!

I know today is not my usual day for blogging, but I wanted to point out my new playlist at the top of the page. I created it, so it's not spam; plus, there are different songs this time (as you might remember, before I had "Up All Night" by One Direction as the opening song)! So, press play, and enjoy!

Lizzie
